Petrasch. These works are intended to supply information on alpine plants to the non-botanist through original and interesting colourful illustrations.Volume I is the 'Second Improved Edition' from 1886. Plants range from 'Atragene alpina. L. Alpenrebe' to 'Agrostis rupestris. All. Felsen-Windhalm.Volume III is the first edition copy from 1881. Plant species mentioned range from 'Anemone baldensis L. Erdbeerfruchtiges Windroschen' to 'Allosurus crispus Bernh. Rollfarn'.Written in the original German by Ferdinand Graf (1833-1877), a scientist and botanist.Collated, complete. In the publisher's original cloth binding. Externally, very smart, with minimal bumping and wear to the extremities, head and tail of spine, and along the spines of joints. Loss to spine illustration on Vol I. Prior owner's pen inscription to recto of front endpaper of Vol I, as well as to the recto of front free endpapers for both volumes. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean, with age-toning to the text and the a few spots to the first few pages of text. Colour plates are very bright and clean, with the odd spot.
