Auflage 1843, nachdem Hoffmann wegen seines Eintretens für ein einheitliches Deutschland und seiner liberalen Haltung, die sich in seinen 'Unpolitischen Liedern'(1840/41) äußerte, von der preußischen Regierung pensionslos seiner Professur für deutsche Sprache und Literatur in Breslau enthoben-, ihm die preußische Staatsbürgerschaft entzogen- und er des Landes verwiesen wurde.
