Im März 1799 war er erstmals auf der Dresdner Akademieausstellung vertreten. 1802/03 Wanderungen auf der Insel Rügen. 1803 Umzug nach Loschwitz. 1805 nach Fürsprache Goethes Hälfte des ersten Preises der Weimarer Kunstfreunde. 1808 gelang mit dem Tetschener Altar (Kreuz im Gebirge) der künstlerische Durchbruch. Freundschaften u.a. mit Gerhard von Kügelgen, Carl Gustav Carus und Christian Clausen Dahl. 1810 Mitglied der Berliner, 1816 Mitglied der Dresdner Akademie. 1824 außerordentlicher Professor an der Dresdner Akademie. Condizione: guter Zustand. Pinsel in Grau, über leichter Bleistiftskizze, mit schwarzer Tuschlinie umrandet, auf bräunlichem Velin. 12,315,4 cm. Veith war schon in jungen Jahren als Stuben-und Dekorationsmaler tätig. Als Schüler der Dresdener Kunstakademie lernte er hauptsächlich bei A. Zingg (1734-1816) Kupferstechen und Zeichn…en, insbesondere das Landschaftsfach. Etwa ab 1790 begann er selbständig mit Ölbildern, besonders aber mit bildmäßigen Zeichnungen. Zudem illustrierte er Reisebeschreibungen. 1798 wurde er Pensionär der Akademie mit der Auflage, die Meißner Porzellanmanufaktur mit geeigneten Motiven zu beliefern. 1802 erhielt er ein kurfürstlich sächsisches Reisestipendium, mit dem er die Schweiz, Oberitalien und Rom besuchte. Eine zweite Italienfahrt folgte 1813-1814. Daneben sorgte Veith für die Veröffentlichung seiner Blätter in Stichen und Radierungen und blieb auch als Landschaftsgraphiker aktiv. 1817 erhielt er die Mitgliedschaft der Dresdener Akademie, 1833 die Ernennung zum Professor.
