Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. First Edition. Embark on a delightful journey through wit and humor with "Everyone But Thee and Me" by Ogden Nash. This hardcover edition, a 1962 3rd printing, features yellow cloth-covered boards with gold spine lettering and three charming blue bees sketched on the spine. While the book i…s in Good+ condition, it's essential to note some details. The covers are in good shape, boasting square corners; however, the spine shows signs of foxing, and the print is a bit faded along the spine. Notably, this copy does not include a dust jacket. The binding is rolled forward, but the interior pages remain clean and unmarked, preserving the humorous charm of Ogden Nash's work. A minor abrasion and a former owner's gift inscription grace the front flyleaf. For your peace of mind, the book will be meticulously packaged for shipment, ensuring protection from the elements. A USPS electronic tracking number will be issued free of charge, allowing you to conveniently monitor the progress of your shipment. If you have further inquiries or would like additional information or pictures regarding the book, feel free to contact us. Immerse yourself in the whimsical world of Ogden Nash's poetry and enjoy the timeless humor within "Everyone But Thee and Me.". Alcorn, John (illustratore).

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. Small octavo. 140mm x 165mm. Illustrated, paper-covered boards. The jacket (now in a protective sleeve) is unclipped (3s 6d net) and typical of the war time period with paper shortages, the wrapper has been printed on re-used paper with a differe…nt title on the verso which is rather charming. Touches of edge wear, darkened to the margins and spine, couple of small stains. A nice copy of this sonnet sequence by Pudney with full-page b/w illustrations by Nash. Tidy ownership name to front free endpaper otherwise no blemishes. Pudney [1909-1977] was an author and journalist but with his poetry found his voice, especially during the war as he captured the effect of conflict on ordinary people's lives. The sonnet sequence follows the calendar year and the changing seasons, beautifully complemented by Nash's illustrations. John Nash [1893-1977] was the brother of the artist Paul Nash.

Hardcover. Condizione: Fine. Condizione sovraccoperta: fine. First Edition. Completely fine, rebound by Shepherds using the actual original Sangorski & Sutcliffe metal stamps. So,the binding is identical to the original binding: vellum from a design by Paul Nash with brown morocco onlays, gilt edges, fine fleece-lined buckram sl…ipcase (another perfect facsimile). Contents completely fine. Because the original metal parts were used for the re-binding, the effect is uncanny: the book looks about as new. A fine press highspot and a gorgeous book.

Bookplate of John Gant on inside front cover. LIMITED EDITION 179/325, SIGNED by the author on the limitation page. [Chanticleer 106]. This book is Bates's first collection of essays about rural life and gardening, and expresses his passion for nature, his fond memories of early family and boyhood, and the saga of the acquisition of the Kentish granary in 1930 as a family home and the creation of its gardens. Two sections recall visits to the home and garden of his great-grandmother and make the point that love, more than horticultural knowledge, makes the garden. Herbert Ernest BATES (1905 - 1974) was a prolific British author best known for his stories describing life in the rural Midlands of England, notably his native Northamptonshire. In particular his two volumes of essays entitled 'Through the Woods' and 'Down the River' have been reprinted many times, and his 1958 novella 'The Darling Buds of May' was adapted for the film "The Mating Game" and a TV series "The Larkins". John Nash (illustratore). Signed.
