Considerable scuffing and marking to the boards, with wear to the edges. Wear and discolouration of the spine. A few soft markings in pen to the upper spine. Wear, bumping and softening to the spine ends and corners. Otherwise, the page block, despite some minor toning is firm and tight. Whilst there is wear to the exterior of the book, the pages are clean and unmarked. Overall a Hardback in Fair condition, with numerous lovely photographs in black and white.

HARDCOVER. 1939. First edition. A very good copy in edge rubbed blue cloth boards with silver gilt lettering to the front panel and spine. The spine is slightly faded and there is a short tear to the head of the spine. The edges of the text block and endpapers are age tanned otherwise the contents are very clean and the binding is excellent. This copy has been inscribed and SIGNED by both Irving and Electa Johnson to the title page. Scans available if required.
