En 1668 Don Juan José de Austria, hijo ilegítimo de Felipe IV, fue expulsado de la Corte de Madrid a instancias de la reina María Ana de Neuburg y su confesor el Padre Nithard. Esta carta es una fuerte crítica de Nithard, aunque no le nombre directamente; el Padre Nithard había actuado con poco tino como ministro de la reina y fue muy impopular en toda España. Acompañado por una traduccion inglesa.
