Hardcover. Condizione: Good. No Jacket. 1st Edition. A very good and mostly unmarked copy of a first edition from 1924 of a former library book from the Cincinnati Museum of Natural History Library. Library ink stamps on the front endpapers, which also has a gummed label from a previous owner who may have acquired it from the library. Inkstamped notation that it was discarded by the library on the half-title page. I did not scrutinize each of the 190 pages. But a quick perusal of the book did not reveal any other library markings nor names, notes or highlighting. Some obvious separation between the frontispiece and the title page where those pages may have been re-glued at some point many years ago. Some wrinkles seem to radiate out from the top of many of the pages although it does not impact any of the type or the illustrations. I don't know what caused that issue. Fore edge and bottom of the pages are deckled while the top of the pages is gilt. Black boards have been banged around in the last 102 years and the spine shows a bit of sunning.
