Ernst ( Ernö) Kállai was a Hungarian emigré author, journalist and art critic closely aligned with members of the Hungarian avant-garde in diaspora after 1…919, and as a critic played an important role in the evolution from Expressionism into Constructivism, articulating and promoting Bauhaus principles both in Germany and Hungary (where he finally returned with the rise of Nazism). He was published widely in both countries from 1920, eventually being silenced by the communist regime after 1948. Despite its humble size, the articles generated a good amount of response among the readership, notably "Kunst und die grosse Publikum." Artwork by Bauhäusler (Bayer, Schawinsky) and allied artists illustrated. Worldcat finds this in 7 North American libraries. This very good.
