Die Genauigkeit und Feinheit der zeichnerischen Wiedergabe der neu hinzugekommenen Bilder und ihrer Reproduktion ist dieselbe wie bei der ersten Auflage und geben restlos das wieder, was an den Präparaten im Mikroskop zu sehen ist. Alle neuen Bilder wurden wieder von der Künstlerhand des Zeichners Schilling gefertigt und in dem gleichen Verfahren von derselben Kunstanstalt wie die Tafeln der ersten Auflage hergestellt. Karl Friedrich Wilhelm Schleip (1872- ) attended the university of his native town Freiburg and in Kiel, Spending his internship and period as assistant 1898-1909 in Kiel as well as in Hamburg. He obtained his doctorate at Freiburg in 1898. He was habilitated for internal medicine at Freiburg in 1903, 1909-1919 was chief physician at the German hospital in Constantinople and later lived in Freiburg.
