Wo liegen die ideen- und realgeschichtlichen Wurzeln der Souveränität, und wie entwickelte sie sich? Im vorliegenden Band geben Historiker:innen, Jurist:innen, Philosoph:innen und Politolog:innen mit einer historisch vergleichenden, deutsch-französischen Perspektive Antworten auf diese Frage. Trotz spätmittelalterlichen Vorformen begann das staats- und völkerrechtliche Konzept der Souveränität erst mit Jean Bodins Definition (1576), die politischen Auseinandersetzungen in und zwischen den Staaten entscheidend zu prägen. Der Zentralstaat Frankreich setzte die Souveränität zuerst des Königs, dann des Volkes modellhaft um. Im föderalistisch strukturierten Deutschland begründete sie eine Pluralität von Staaten. Die kolonialen Imperien stützten dank der Souveränität ihre Herrschaft über außereuropäische Territorien, während das Konzept in Europa das Nebeneinander von Nationalstaaten legitimierte. Zusammen mit A. Gemelli gründete er d. "Archivio italiana di psicologia generale e del lavoro", später "Rivista di psicologia sociale e Archivio italiano di psicologiea generale e del lavoro". - Max Nadoleczny (1874 - 1940) war Phonetiker und Schüler von Hermann Gutzmann d. Ä. Er verbrachte den Großteil seiner Karriere in München als Leiter der Abteilung für Sprach- und Stimmkranke an der Universitätsklinik für Hals-Nasen-Ohrenkranke. Er übte durch seine wissenschaftlichen Tätigkeiten u. seine Lehrtätigkeit einen entscheidenden Einfluss auf die Entwicklung und Verbreitung der Sprach- und Stimmheilkunde in Deutschland aus. Er war einer der Gründer der deutschen Gesellschaft für Sprach- und Stimmheilkunde.
