Peter von Rittinger (Neutitschein 1811 - 1872 Wien) war Montanist und Pionier der Erzaufbereitung. 1850 wurde er als Sektionsrat für das Kunstbau- und Aufbereitungsfach an das Ministerium…für Landescultur- und Bergwesen nach Wien berufen. 1863 erhielt er den Orden der Eisernen Krone III. Klasse, der mit dem erblichen Ritterstand verbunden war. 1864 wurde ihm von Joachimsthal (Jáchymov) das Ehrenbürgerrecht verliehen. 1868 erfolgte schließlich Ernennung zum Ministerialrat im Finanzministerium. Zuletzt war er Verwaltungsleiter der Staatsdomänen und -forste und der Montanwerke. Er hinterließ zahlreiche Fachpublikationen zu seinem speziellen Fachgebiet, der Erzaufbereitung, in der er als international anerkannte Autorität galt.

Johann Baptist Pischek (Mscheno 1814 -1873 Sigmaringen) war ein aus Böhmen stammender Opernsänger am Württembergischen Hoftheater. Er studierte zunächst Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität Prag, ehe er zur Bühne wechs…elte. Ab dem Jahre 1838 wirkte er am Stadttheater in Brünn, seit 1839 am Theater an der Wien sowie in Pressburg mit stets wachsendem Erfolg. 1840 kam die Berufung zum ersten Baritonisten an das Stadttheater in Frankfurt. Vier Jahre später erhielt er eine unbefristete Anstellung als königlicher Kammersänger am Hoftheater in Stuttgart. Während der Dauer seines Wirkens erlebte die Stuttgarter Oper eine Glanzzeit.

The life of an…Hungarian hussar in full colour: rare, complete set of the splendidly coloured plates prepared by Johann Nepomuk Hoechle (1790-1835), one of the most prolific painters of military themes of his time, lithographed by Josef Kriehuber (1800-76), an artist particularly famous for his high-quality lithographic portraits. The appealing scenes illustrate key events in the career of an Hungarian hussar, beginning with recruitment, showing the young man carousing with his recruiters, drink in hand. The plates further depict exercising on horseback, a night-time ambush, and an action-packed battle scene captioned "a heroic deed", showing the hussars triumphing over bayonet-wielding enemies set against a smoke-filled sky and a town ablaze with fire. In the last two scenes the young hussar is decorated by the Emperor on the battlefield before returning home to his family, who are eager to examine his medal of honour. - Some light surface soiling and creasing, small ink stain to upper cover. Mai 1807 in Gleink bei Steyr; gest. am 8. Dezember 1894 in Wien) war Jurist und Politiker. Er war der Sohn des Franz Hye, eines Beamten der k.k. Religionsfonds-Herrschaft Gleink, in der heut…e zu Steyr gehörenden Ortschaft Neustiftl geboren. Seine Mutter war eine Verwandte des Linzer Bischofs Joseph Anton Gall sowie des Phrenologen Franz Joseph Gall. Hye blieb zeitlebens seiner Heimat eng verbunden, so wählte er später sein Prädikat "von Gluneck" nach einem älteren Namen für Gleink und verbrachte auch als Spitzenbeamter in Wien fast jeden Urlaub in Oberösterreich. Nach der Volksschule besuchte er das Stiftsgymnasium Kremsmünster. Er studierte Rechtswissenschaften an der Universität Wien und promovierte dort 1831 zum Dr. jur. Von 1835 bis 1854 war er Professor am Theresianum, 1842 bis 1854 ordentlicher Professor der Wiener Universität. 1848 war er einige Tage Oberanführer sämtlicher Studentencorps und überreichte 1848 die Studentenpetition bei Hof, zog sich aber kurz darauf wegen der fortschreitenden Radikalisierung der studentischen Bewegung von der Akademischen Legion zurück und befürwortete später ihre Auflösung.
