Original blue cloth, gilt-lettered, decorated in gilt, black, and blind-stamping, 146 pages and a 16 page appendix, illustrated throughout with drawings by O. Marion Elbel. David Rohrer Leeper set out from South Bend with a party of six in February, 1849. Of the six, four of the others "never returned to the United States". A little rubbing to some of the edges, a Fine copy, gilt bright.
