Page edges either deckled or unopened. Pages are bright and unmarked. Paper with "pur fil Marais" watermark. Outer stiff wrap is also clean with a light, subtle stain on the front right edge near the bottom corner. Spine is creased a bit. Box is a bit crushed along its spine and top panel. Otherwise box is toned with a few light smudges. Overall this is a handsome copy with a bit of damage to the case. Features black and red printed text and sheet music with lovely black ink engravings. This is an oversized (and overweight) book. Extra shipping charges may be required for international or priority delivery.

In-folio, 24p & gravures, en feuille sous chemise cartonnée avec un feuillet de couverture. Premier recueil, le seul… publié, sur la gravure, tiré à 320 exemplaires, tous sur vélin du Marais : 50 avec 2 suites des 6 gravures, 240 avec 1 suite & 30 divers (dont 10 avec 2 suites). Notre exemplaire justifié « H.C. II » est un des 60 avec deux suites et est l'exemplaire de l'éditeur. Il a donc deux suites : l'une avec la signature dans la planche (comme tous les exemplaires) & l'autre avec la signature autographe de chaque artiste, au crayon, et numérotée 52/60. L'ouvrage contient notamment une des œuvres les plus importantes d'Hasegawa, une aquatinte très recherchée. Elle est connue sous différents titres. Titrée ici « Fleurs », on la trouve plus souvent sous les titres « Anémones et fleurs de champs dans un verre à facettes » ou « Bouquet sur fond de dentelle ». Elle est donc bien présente en deux exemplaires : l'état définitif, avec la signature dans la planche, et l'état précédent, signée au crayon par Hasegawa et numérotée 52/60. Exemplaire fortement enrichi par : un dessin préparatoire de Lemagny pour sa gravure ; deux gouaches proches du dessin de Jeannisson (non signées, nous ne savons pas si elles sont de Jeannisson) ; deux essais de tirages en réduction de la gravure de Decaris pour le prospectus ; un exemplaire du prospectus avec la gravure de Decaris ; onze tirage supplémentaire de gravures, qui ne semblent pas différer du tirage définitif : 2 Decaris, 1 Cami, 1 Lemagny, 1 Cottet & 6 Jeannisson ; le livre d'or (en feuillets) de Jacques Petit lors de la foire de Paris de 1946, avec notamment quelques dessins. Quelques personnalités mais aucune de premier ordre. Très bel exemplaire, très rare et très bien truffé. L'ensemble de l'ouvrage ayant été scanné, n'hésitez pas à nous demander plus de photos.
