Aggiungi al carrelloHardcover. Condizione: Good. THERE ARE NO TARIFFS OR CUSTOMS DUTIES ON BOOKS. Fabulous Admirals and Some Naval Fragments - being a brief account of some of the froth on those characters who enlivened the Royal Navy a generation or two ago.The Navy's supremacy had been virtually unchallenged for the best part of a century: and this accumulation of confidence, combined with the autocracy, power and independence that was bestowed on a commander-in- chief, resulted in a proliferation of personality on the grand scale. Often the eccentricity of those old commanders was only matched by their courage and integrity. Condition: used, good. Damaged dust jacket encased in cellophane, some foxing on edges, otherwise good.

Published in 1957, this is the First Edition of this work on some of the Admirals in the British Royal Navy bound in a quarter leather binding. In good condition. This copy originally belonged to Barrie Harcourt Kent (1922-2007) who was a Royal Navy Captain, and part of the Armed Forces Intelligence Services, with his armorial bookplate to the front pastedown. He thoroughly enjoyed it. Do hope you will give me a ring sometime and come and have lunch at the Senior, Very intrigued about your new job and inquisitive enough to try and wheedle out of you what it's all about! Yours Brian A LEATHER BOUND EXAMPLE OF THIS BOOK THAT WAS ONCE LENT TO AND READ BY KING CHARLES III.
