Sein umfangreiche Historiensammlung mit Beispielen für alle Lebenslagen, Theatrum vitae humanae (1565, 1571, 1586/87), wurde erst von seinem Schwiegersohn Theodor Zwinger abgeschlossen, herausgegeben und erweitert.
