Eighth edition. Bound in the publisher's blue cloth. A children's morality tale, written with the intention to teach children that they should always trust God and do what is right. The story surrounds an important journey, filled with situations to overcome and people to help along the way. Written by the Rev. Norman Macleod, a Scottish clergyman and author, who served as Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland in 1869-70. Macleod wrote the moral tale for his own children, to instill notions of right and wrong. Illustrated with seven plates, a frontispiece and additional vignette engravings. Collated, complete. Bound in the publisher's blue cloth. Externally, very good, with light bumping and some rubbing to the extremities, causing some small splits to cloth. The odd mark to cloth. Hinges are a touch strained, but holding. Internally, generally firmly bound, a little tender towards the rear, with the final plate disbound but present. Pages are bright and clean. Very Good. book.

Dr. Daniel Dewar". Rebound in two volumes, with Gaelic to English in Volume 1, and English to Gaelic in Volume 2. 1007 pages total, moderately age-yellowed. The condition is excellent: slightest wear, slightest dulling of the cloth of the lower spines (apparently from removed labels), slight residue of removed bookplates inside the front covers, otherwise unmarked. Undated, circa 1840; the title page resembles that of the 1839 printing, except for the missing year. [3.8 lbs]. Signed by Author(s). Book.
