Das soziale Leben der Mikrogesellschaft Schule findet von je her in den allgemein genutzten Räumen statt, den Räumen des Dazwischen, welche die Räume mit absoluter Bestimmung (Klassenzimmer, Fachräume usw.) verbinden: Bewegungsräume, Raumaufweitungen, Räume unter freiem Himmel. Das Dazwischen bildet den Handlungsrahmen für die Schulgesellschaft. Ausgehend von der zeichnerischen Betrachtung von 30 architektonisch bedeutenden Schulgebäuden aus den vergangenen 90 Jahren reflektieren Architekten, Pädagogen und Lernforscher über Hintergründe, Bedingungen und Möglichkeiten für die Entwicklung der gemeinschaftlich genutzten Räume in Schulen vom Dazwischen zum Lernraum. Mit Beiträgen von Herman Hertzberger, Kazuhiro Kojima, Almut Grüntuch-Ernst, Rolf Schuster, Heidemarie Kemnitz, Barbara Zschiesche, Dirk E.
