La trattazione di Petitdidier, anch'essa in forma epistolare, sebbene forse non conchiuda la querelle circa i concetti di grazia e libero arbitrio tuttavia ne rappresenta certamente una visione d'insieme essendo una risposta critica sia all'opera di Pascal che a quella del gesuita Gabriel Daniel (1649-1728).
