Harking back to Virgil's Polydorus his character Tancredi, having slain his Clorinda, enters the forest outside of Jerusalem, which has been enchanted by Ismend to prevent their felling for siege towers by the crusading knights. When he slashes out at a tree it bleeds blood and cries out in Clorinda's voice. All the enchanted trees react as humans. Signed by Author(s).

Farblithographie, Bildformat 32.5 x 30.5 cm, frei in Passepartout wohnfertig gerahmt in weissem Alurahmen 40 x 40 cm, from the RCA Artist's Choice Portfolio.- Michael Heindorff attended art college and University of Braunschweig, Germany, 1970-74, gaining a German National Scholarship, 1972-76, and a DAAD scholarship for London, 1976/77, attending Royal College of Art.- Heindorff was proficient in different medias and styles, but over the years moved away from figuration towards abstraction. In 1976, he won a John Moores Prize at Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool, later winning the prestigeous Schmidt-Rottluff Prize and Villa Massimo Prize. A retrospective was held in 1987 at Northern Centre for Contemporary Arts. Heindorff taught at Royal College of Art and was included in its Exhibition Road Show of 1988.
