Is partnership as an organisational principle a means to overcome the limitations of project-based organisations, which often prioritize short-term outcomes? Or is the interest in partnership merely a trend in the expanding field of organisational development for complex situations? This book presents insights from 14 scholars who provide new data and thorough analyses of partnership organisations, both theoretically and practically. They explore the effectiveness of these organisations in fostering long-term changes and innovations rather than focusing solely on immediate results. The aim is to tackle practical dilemmas within partnership organisations through various theoretical lenses--covering organisational learning, change strategies, power dynamics, gender analysis, governance, and participation. The research offers valuable insights into the advantages and disadvantages of partnership models, addressing questions about their usefulness, the problems they can solve, and the necessary conditions for their successful implementation. The editors, Lennart Svensson, a sociology professor, and Barbro Nilsson, a lecturer in pedagogic at the University of Linkoping, along with contributors from diverse backgrounds, enrich the discussion with their expertise.…
