Prima edizione di uno dei più rari e curiosi strumenti filologici dedicati a Dante, fondamentale per la storia della lessicografia e degli studi danteschi del primo Seicento.L'opera dispone in ordine rimico di tutti i versi della Commedia, con citazione sistematica dei canti dell'Inferno, Purgatorio e Paradiso. Considerato il primo rimario dantesco mai apparso a stampa, costituisce la base di tutta la successiva tradizione dei repertori lessicali e rimici dedicati a Dante. L'autore attribuisce nella dedica la paternità del lavoro a un ordine ricevuto dal principe Giulio Cesare di Capua, conte di Palena, ma la critica ritiene Carlo Noci vero compilatore dell'opera. Di notevole interesse per la filologia italiana e per la storia della lingua, il volume testimonia il crescente culto di Dante nella cultura erudita meridionale del primo Seicento.L'opera conobbe lunga fortuna e fu utilizzata come modello per le successive edizioni della Commedia curate dall'Accademia della Crusca nel Settecento.
