Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning and scuffing overall. Spine has minor tanning with soft crushing to ends. Book has a slight forward lean. Clipped dust jacket with minor rubbing, chipping and tearing to edges. Moderate tanning and scuffing overall.

Foxing to inside of jacket. Rubbing, toning, and bumps to covers and edges of orange cloth over boards. Dust-spotting to edges of text block. Toning to endpapers. Pages are free of marks and notation. Binding is sound. Vasco Núñez de Balboa (c. 1475 - around January 12-21, 1519) was a Spanish explorer and conquistador known for being the first European to lead an expedition that reached the Pacific Ocean from the Americas. In 1513, Balboa crossed the Isthmus of Panama and sighted the Pacific, claiming the ocean and all of its shores for the Spanish Crown. This achievement played a significant role in establishing Spain's claim to the vast territories of the Pacific coast of the Americas. Despite his exploration successes, Balboa's later years were marked by political challenges and conflicts. Accused of treason, he was arrested and executed in 1519 on the orders of the Spanish Crown. Vasco Núñez de Balboa is remembered as a key figure in the early exploration and colonization of the Americas.

Hard Cover. Condizione: Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. Good hard cover with very good dust jacket. There is a slight bending in all of the pages. Doesn't seem to be water damage. Original jacket has been re-covered in clear, soft plastic as it was beginning to be a bit tattered around the edges. Previous owner's inscription inside.

The dustwrapper is in good plus condition (some rubbing, some chafing of the edges). The dustwrapper has now been put in a mylar cover to protect it.

Interior is clean and unmarked aside from the odd finger smudge. Red cloth boards are sharp and square. Sharp black ink titles to spine and front board. The dustjacket is chipped and rubbed with a number of short tears to extremities. Some staining to the rear panel and one tiny word written in ink on the front panel. Now protected in archival brodart jacket. A stirring retelling of one of the earliest explorers to cross North America above Mexico. This one is, "For Older boys and girls", so buckle up. Scarce in jacket.
