Aus dem Inhalt: Das Harnisch Musterbuch des Augsburger Malers und Graphikers Jörg T. Sorg aus der Zeit von 1548-1563. Sorg versah Harnische mit prunkvollem geätzten Dekor, wie es vor ihm so ber…ühmte Künstler wie Hopfer, Burgkmair und Holbein getan hatten.Jörg T.Sorg begann seine Tätigkeit 1548 zum günstigsten Zeitpunkt, als sich die Arsitokratie des habsburgischen Weltreiches nach dem Sieg Kaiser Karl V. über die evangelische Union auf dem Reichstag von Augsburg traf. Die Fülle der damals getätigten Aufträge führte zu einer letzten Blüte der Plattnerkunst um die Mitte des 16.Jahrhunderts. Das HArnisch-Musterbuch des Jörg T.Sorg ist daher die Hauptquelle zur Geschichte dieses erloschen Kunstzweiges.Aus ihr erfährt man nicht nur die Namen der berühmtesten Augsburger Plattner, sondern auch Namen und Wappen der adeligen Besteller, die im Reich Karl V. den Ton angegeben hatten, an ihrer Spitze der spätere Thronfolger Maximilian II. von Österreich. Außerdem gibt das Buch Aufschluß über die damals bereits völlig feststehenden Harnischtypen für Feldgebrauch und Turnier, ferner über Liefernormen und Stückzahlen. de.
