Eccellente esemplare, timbretto ex libris di provenienza prestigiosa alla prima e all'ultima carta. Rarissima collezione completa del più celebre giornale della Comune di Parigi, diretto da Eugène Vermersch, Maxime Vuillaume e Alphonse Humbert. Pubblicata tra il 6 marzo e il 22 maggio 1871, la serie consta di 68 numeri in-8°, ciascuno di 8 pagine, stampati nel pieno degli avvenimenti rivoluzionari e destinati a divenire una delle testimonianze più vive e radicali dell'esperienza comunarda. Riprendendo il titolo dello storico foglio hébertista della Rivoluzione francese, il giornale adotta il linguaggio violento, popolare e satirico del leggendario Père Duchesne, ponendosi come organo della corrente blanquista più intransigente. La tiratura raggiunse punte eccezionali per l'epoca, sino a circa 70.000 copie. Particolarmente caratteristica è la continua variazione dei titoli di testa, spesso costruiti secondo formule enfatiche e polemiche quali La grande colère du Père Duchêne, La grande motion du Père Duchêne, La grande joie du Père Duchêne, e numerose altre varianti che riflettono, quasi in tempo reale, gli umori e gli avvenimenti della Comune. In-8 (131 X 205) demi-veau framboise, dos lisse orné de rocailles dans un large encadrement doré, titre doré, tranches jaspées (reliure de l'époque) ; (2), faux-titre, titre, 1 feuillet non paginé (table des matières), LX-299 pages, 2 feuillets non paginés (appendice et bulletin), 12 pages (Bulletin des eaux d'Aix-en-Savoie par le docteur Constant Despine, Anneci, Burdet, 1838), 1 feuillet non paginé (note), 8 pages (" Etablissemens de charité pour les baigneurs malheureux "), (3). EDITION ORIGINALE de ce texte considéré par CAILLET comme "l'un des plus intéressants ouvrages qui aient été publiés sur le magnétisme. Ce livre renferme les détails d'une des cures les plus remarquables dues à ce traitement spécial." (CAILLET, Manuel bibliographique des sciences psychiques ou occultes, 2082). Despine y analyse l'utilisation du magnétisme animal en association avec les eaux minérales comme traitement contre les désordres nerveux. Il présente le cas particulier de l'histoire d'une patiente nommée "Estelle". EXEMPLAIRE du baron Claude-Joseph-Constant DESPINE (1807-1873), fils de l'auteur de l'ouvrage. Il suivit la même carrière que son père et fut nommé médecin inspecteur de l'établissement thermal d'Aix. Il était membre de l'Académie des Sciences de Turin et de diverses sociétés savantes. Il a apposé son ex-libris manuscrit dans l'angle inférieur droit de la page de titre : "Bron C. Despine", et recopié sur le deuxième feuillet blanc six vers manuscrits extraits du " Macbeth " de Shakespeare, qu'il a titrés "Somnambulisme de Lady Macbeth". A la fin de l'ouvrage, sur un feuillet blanc, dix observations manuscrites numérotées sur une page et demie, rédigées d'une écriture fine et serrée, et titrées : " Observations et aphorismes du Dr. Bron Antoine Despine relatives aux somnambules ". Enfin, collé sur une double page, à la fin de l'ouvrage, un article de journal " Extrait du patriote savoisien N° du 31 mai 1853 " (mention manuscrite). Il s'agit de l' " Histoire de Me Schmidt - racontée par M. Joseph Donjean, pharmacien à Chambéry, membre de plusieurs académies " (note manuscrite), récit " d'un des phénomènes les plus extraordinaires que puisse présenter le magnétisme médical ". A la fin de l'article de journal, Constant Despine a ajouté à la main : " Je déclare avoir été témoin de l'expérience ci-dessus, à laquelle assistait aussi M. Bocquier (l'oncle) pharmacien à Aix-les-Bains. Dr. Baron Constant Despine, inspecteur hon. des Eaux d'Aix ". TRES INTERESSANT EXEMPLAIRE. Ex-libris gravé collé sur le premier contre-plat.
