A frail survival, with the photographic portraits in good condition, but the brittle leaves chipped and discoloured. One bifolium intact (with remains of string binding), all the other leaves detached and loose, making it difficult to ascertain whether the item is or is not complete. (The entry for the only copy traced on OCLC WorldCat, at the Universitätsbibliothek Bayreuth, describes it as ' 6 Bl. : : nur Ill.') Simon-Girard, Mr. Nelson Keys; with 'Books and Lyrics by Arthur Wimperis and Basil Hood. | Music by Lionel Moncokton and Herman Finck. | Produced by Edward Royce and Tom Reynolds.' Sprache: englisch. --- Zustand: Etwas fleckig, Buchklammern rostig, Bindung gelockert. Über Anna Pawlowna Pawlowa (Quelle: wikipedia): Anna Pawlowna Pawlowa - Anna Matwejewna Pawlowa, in westlichen Sprachen oft Anna Pavlova transkribiert; * 31. Januar jul. / 12. Februar 1881 greg. in Sankt Petersburg; gest. 23. Sie tanzte Hauptrollen in Der Nussknacker, Raimonda, Giselle, La Bayadère, Paquita, La Fille du Pharaon, Harlequinade u. a.

Besides several musical pieces, accompanied on the piano by Mrs Willie Boothroyd, are comic performances one Charles F.Hill, 'The Dumb Droll, in a Wordless Sketch', and Harry Shirley and May Ransome 'in their delightful episodes, depicting comedy and pathos of Cockney life' and theatrical, including an Indian romance 'with Effects' and Mr W.Austin St Clair 'in Characters from Dickens'. It is unclear what, exactly, one might expect to see from 'Adkin, the Motoring Vent'. The Palace Theatre opened on Cole Street in Scunthorpe in 1912. It was renamed the Savoy Theatre in the 1930s, closed in the '70s, and eventually demolished. Language: English.…

Aggiungi al carrelloFive letters, each 1p., 4to. In fair condition, aged and creased. ONE: Palace Theatre, 4 July 1912. In capitals. Conveying the thanks of the King and Queen to the members of the orchestra for their work at the previous night's royal performance, and adding, for Finck: 'I have already told you how much I appreciate what you did on Monday night and the splendid manner in which you conducted. The success of the performance would have been impossible without your invaluable assistance.' TWO: Garrick House, 23 March 1921. Begins: 'I need hardly say that having regard to my very lengthy assocation with the Palace Theatre it is a matter of keen personal regret to me that I should be severing my connection with this magnificent Theatre, but the offer which the London Palace (1921) Limited made to the Shareholders (and which has to-day been completed) was of such a nature that I did not feel justified in refusing to recommend it to them for their acceptance.' He praises Finck as 'a pillar of strength' who has 'helped me from the Orchestral side to - I think I can say it without egotism - enhance the prestige and reputation of the Palace Theatre until it enjoyed a position which is unique in the Entertainkent World.' He hopes to associate with him in the future, and together with his colleagues wishes to show his appreciation 'in a practical manner', and so is enclosing a cheque for £250 (the figure being added in autograph). THREE: Drury Lane, 28 September 1926. In order to show their appreciation to Finck, the 'Directors of Drury Lane and Messrs Daniel Mayer Company' are enclosing a cheque for £50. FOUR: Drury Lane, 15 April 1931. Addressed to Finck but apparently a circular, announcing the resignation of his 'position as Chairman of Drury Lane', and thanking his 'very hard-working, conscientious and loyal staff'. FIVE: Seymour House, 23 April 1931. Thanking him for subscribing to 'the really beautiful gift', adding 'The delightful manner in which you recall the many years during which we have worked together, and convey to me your good wishes for my future health and happiness will always be one of my most treasured possessions.' Aggiungi al carrelloFinck was a well-respected and much-loved figure on the London musical and theatrical scene. His 'In the Shadows' was among the last tunes played as RMS Titanic went down. This miscellaneous collection of nine items in fair overall condition, on lightly aged and worn paper. ONE: Autograph Manuscript by Finck, contained names and outlines of anecdotes for inclusion in his memoirs. 2pp., 12mo. On letterhead of 212 Finchley Road, London. As an example, here is the text at the foot of one page: 'Include A. C. M. Club in Club stories. | R. A. Roberts Colisseum | "By God! I'll ride to York." | Ralph Reader | "Have you ever written a Ballet about 50." | "Have you ever arranged one."' TWO: Autograph Card Signed ('Paps') from Finck to his wife Mabel ('Darling Mams'). On letterhead of the Grand Hotel, Eastbourne; 27 December 1918. A high-spirited missive beginning: 'I hope you all arrived safely & lost neither the bags or dogs.' On the address side Finck writes: 'I sent the wires | I had a share | I'm sending parcel to . | I tipped the Chambermaid. | I cannot get Laundry done. | I've been for a week | I had a rotten lunch. | I'm having tea | I bid you adieu.' THREE: Typed contract between Finck and the London publishers Hutchinson & Co., for a book to be titled 'In the Chair'. 19 October 1937. Signed by the firm's chairman Walter Hutchinson (1887-1950), and witnessed by 'W. T. Kimber' who was to go on and found his own firm. Possibly an intended follow-up to Finck's 'My Melodious Memories', which the firm published in 1937. FOUR: Typed Letter Signed from of London literary agents Curtis Brown Ltd. 20 October 1937. Regarding Item One, which has been 'duly stamped at Somerset House'. FIVE and SIX: Manuscript Letter addressed to 'Dear George', the author's initials as signature being indecipherable. On letterhead of the Savage Club, London. 6 December 1920. Thanking him for the 'generous cheque': 'but for those damned Cassells I would not have taken a penny'. Enclosing a Barclays Bank cheque for four guineas to 'Dr. Conran', signed by Finck, 29 October 1927. Endorsed on reverse: 'p.p. P. C. Conran | F. E. Munt'. SEVEN: Photographic image of Elizabethan gentleman, on which is written (by one of Finck's daughters?) the heading 'My 21st. Birthday April 17th. 1926.' Written over the image are various signatures in pencil, including that of Finck. EIGHT: Typed carbon copy of letter [from Finck] to Sir Landon Ronald at the Guildhall School of Music. 19 May 1924. Accepting 'the Diploma of Fellowship of the Guildhall School of Music, which the Music Committee of the Corporation of the City of London have so graciously offered to me.' NINE: Typed note: 'Mr. Herman Finck is of the opinion that there is something very illogical in the demand for a tax on his income from a Government, which, by rendering, through noise, his house useless for a composer to work in, makes the earning of that income impossible.' On reverse, in pencil: 'Book | Mams | "You've done a job of work in your time!"'.…
