La poesía de César Vallejo (1892-1938), desde Los heraldos negros (1918) hasta España aparta de mi este cáliz (1939) está marcada por una catarsis emotiva y verbal. En Vallejo hay un solo camino a seguir, una corriente interna que aparece en su primer libro y ocurre también en sus libros posteriores incluyendo sus poemas póstumos. El poeta escribe sobre la madre, el padre, el hermano ausente, la ciudad y sobre los estados emocionales de la niñez y los adultos. Su obra poética es una unidad, un todo que no culmina, y que a través de sus tenias recurrentes va cuajando profundamente una poética original. Es un error común encasillar su obra dentro de un solo marco, y olvidar otros temas relevantes como el amor y la solidaridad con el género humano. Dezember 1879 in Münchenbuchsee, Kanton Bern; gest. 29. Juni 1940 in Muralto, Kanton Tessin) war ein deutscher Maler und Grafiker, dessen vielseitiges Werk dem Expressionismus, Konstruktivismus, Kubismus, Primitivismus und dem Surrealismus zugeordnet wird. Klee stand in engem Kontakt zur Redaktionsgemeinschaft Der Blaue Reiter und zeigte auf ihrer zweiten Ausstellung 1912 grafische Arbeiten. Dem bis zu dieser Zeit hauptsächlich als Grafiker tätigen Künstler verhalf eine 1914 gemeinsam mit August Macke und Louis Moilliet durchgeführte Reise nach Tunesien zu seinem Durchbruch als Maler. Sie wurde als kunstgeschichtlich bedeutende Tunisreise bekannt. Wie sein Freund, der russische Maler Wassily Kandinsky, lehrte Klee ab 1921 am Bauhaus in Weimar und später in Dessau. Ab 1931 war er Professor an der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf. Nach der Machtergreifung durch die Nationalsozialisten wurde er entlassen und ging zurück nach Bern, wo er als Sohn eines deutschen Vaters und einer Schweizer Mutter aufgewachsen war. Dort entstand während der letzten Jahre ab dem Jahr 1934 trotz wachsender Belastung durch eine schwere Krankheit ein umfangreiches Spätwerk. Neben seinem künstlerischen Werk verfasste er kunsttheoretische Schriften wie beispielsweise Schöpferische Konfession (1920) und Pädagogisches Skizzenbuch (1925).
