Ald…ina apparve nel 1499, questa nostra e' una variante della seconda edizione del 1513, la terza e' del 1527. Il Perotti (Sassoferrato 1429-1480), fu celebre umanista, autore della piu' stimata grammatica latina e, dal 1474, fu governatore a Perugia. Antica nota manoscritta a colonna 183. L'ancora in fine non è originale e presenta delle varianti. Vedi H.G. Flecher New Aldine Studies, 1988. Quella del frontis originale e' riprodotta a p. 56, n F 4. Quella in fine, invece, e' a p. 57, n F 6 ed e' piu' antica (circa 1504), evidentemente presa da un'altra opera. Testo su due colonne, magnifica bordura xilografica al frontis raffigurata nel volume "200 decorative title-pages"…e citata in "Handbook Renaissance Ornament" tavv. 18-19 dove è attribuita al Taccuini. Bella ed elegantissima edizione della più importante opera del Perottus; essa costituisce un commentario sui libri degli spettacoli ed è un prezioso commento degli epigrammi di Marziale nonchè un lessico ragionato della lingua latina. Sembra che il Perottus avesse rinunciato a terminare il commento di alcuni epigrammi del Marziale perchè saturi di oscenità. L' opera è stampata con singolari e minutissimi caratteri. Alessandro Paganino era in possesso delle matrici e dei punzoni di tipo arabo usati per stampare il Corano.
