Eerstgenoemde, kapitein ter zee Frangois Bellec, plaatst de Nederlandse maritieme activiteit binnen het kader van wat men de algemene zeegeschiedenis zou kunnen noemen.Zijn Nederlandse collega, kapitein-luitenant ter zee dr.
