In 1965, he served with 105 Field Battery in Vietnam, the first Royal Australian Artillery unit to go to the the conflict. He tells of life in the Bien Hoa Base; transporting guns into action; and life on Fire Support Bases. His second tour was in 1970 with 107 Field Battery RAA, before transferring from artillery into the Civil Affairs Unit. Includes nominal index and manning details at deployment for 105 Field Battery and 107 Field Battery.
