Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: Good. This book is a unique collection: ordinary Londoners, in their own voices, tell about ordinary London lives.Interviews with over a hundred people in eight localities, from inner-city Battersea, to suburban Heston, to Greenhithe on the London fringe, have been edited with a linking commentary by Professor Sir Peter Hall. The first half, "London Voices", introduces the characters - their hopes and aspirations, their frustrations and struggles, their determination and optimism. The second, "London Lives", introduces the themes that dominate their everyday lives: the struggle to keep their heads above water, the search for a place to live, the hassle of the journey to work, their friends and neighbours, their concerns about crime, and the quality of their everyday lives. This is not only an extraordinary social record but also a compelling read for anyone and everyone interested in today's London, or in any other great global city. It will provide a mine of information for future historians on one of the world's greatest cities and will be of special academic or professional interest to sociologists, anthropologists, geographers, planners and social policymakers. The book has been read but remains in clean condition. All pages are intact and the cover is intact. Some minor wear to the spine.

Hardcover. Condizione: Very Good. Condizione sovraccoperta: Very Good. 1st Edition. First Edition (NAP). As you can see, the orange covers are exceptionally clean. They have only a little wear, a little creasing at and around the top edge of the spine (see fifth photo). The book is square and solidly bound from cover to cover. The pages are all exceptionally clean. I don't see any soiling at all anywhere. Nor are there any markings or attachments. And no one has written their name or anything else anywhere in this book. There is a very light and tiny crease or indent at the very tip of the top corners of the pages. This was likely caused by a mild bump. You can see it, but it's inconspicuous. The dust jacket is in solid condition. As is the case with the book there is some creasing at and around the top edge of the spine. There's also a thin crease off the top edge of the rear cover. There are no tears on the jacket. As you can see, it is very clean. It is NOT price-clipped, not clipped at all, and will be fitted with a protective cover after the photos are scanned. 'The Right Line tells the backstage story, unbelievable, frustrating, at times hilarious, of why Britain's high-speed line took so long, with so many false starts.' 'This story is not just about a railway line, it is a major and wide-ranging work of contemporary history, shining a powerful spotlight on Britain, the British and the way we are governed.'.

Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: Like New. First Edition. A nearly new copy with no defects, just a few hardly noticeable rubs and bumps and a 'damaged' stamp to one of the preliminary pages. Despite such this book looks and feels unread with contents that are crisp, fresh and tight. Thus a very nice book in great condition, now offered for sale at a reasonable price.

Aggiungi al carrelloPaperback. Condizione: New. This book features four peer-reviewed reviews on the development of alternative sources of protein as feed for pigs. The first chapter summarises the nutritional attributes of macroalgae in terms of macro and micronutrients as a source of protein and other compounds in pig nutrition. The chapter also discusses the benefits of macroalgae or macroalgal derived extracts in feed. The second chapter considers the application of corn fermented protein in feed formulations for pigs. The chapter reviews the challenges in producing corn fermented protein and includes a selection of case studies which detail the effects of adding corn fermented protein into the diets of pigs. The third chapter provides an overview of the current state of insect production for pig feed globally and reviews the nutritional, economic and environmental benefits of using insects as feed. The chapter also summarises current research on insects as antimicrobials and life cycle assessments of their rearing. The final chapter discusses the use of black soldier fly (BSF) as an alternative protein source to conventional proteins, such as soya bean meal or fishmeal, in the diets of pigs. The chapter also reviews the benefits and challenges of using BSF in pig diets and highlights what data is still lacking for widespread use of this novel protein.

Druck auf Anfrage Neuware - Printed after ordering - How has the process of political representation changed in the era of globalization The representation of interests is at the heart of democracy, but how is it that some interests secure a strong voice, while others do not While each person has multiple interests linked to different dimensions of his or her identity, much of the existing academic literature assumes that interests are given prior to politics by a person's socioeconomic, institutional, or cultural situation. The book develops an analytic framework for understanding how representation takes place - based on processes of identification, mobilization, and adjudication - and explores how these processes have evolved over time.
