Translated from the blurb on Volume I - This Egyptian-German dictionary is the most comprehensive compilation of words from the time of the great pyramid builders and ranges from the first dynasties to the contested First Intermediate Period (late 4th millennium BC to the last quarter of the 3rd millennium BC). The successful concept of the first volumes has been retained. Hannig-Lexica 4 also offers hieroglyphic spellings, transliteration, translations, idioms, idioms, and additionally lists of gods, places, and kings. Furthermore, each sub-entry is numbered to allow for easy citation of the words and their meanings. Since all entries are richly documented with evidence and source references, the history of the Egyptian language can now be traced.
