It includes an INDEX and a biblio. It covers the life of James Wolfe born in 1727 in Westerham. His first military engagement took place at age 14, he had begged his father, Lieutenant-Colonel Edward Wolfe, to take him to the Isle of wight which would lead to the West Indies. By 1759, as he began preparing campaigns for (Louisburg and then) Quebec he was a seasoned veteran. Read more about Anse au Foulon, Elizabeth Lawson, scurvy, non-purchase corps, Hervey Smyth, War of Jenkins Ear, and Dettinger. Section of b/w photographs from paintings appears at center. 5 maps at back are helpful in noting such details as the Point Levis bombardment.
