First edition of von Bomsdorff's travel memoir (published pseudonymously as "Archibald"), narrating his visit to London, Amsterdam and Paris a couple of years after the end of the Napoleonic Wars, in which von Bomsdorff had served in the Saxon cavalry. Octavo (201 x 118 mm). With 8 plates, one of which is folding. Contemporary q…uarter sheep, orange paper label, smooth spine with gilt motifs, marbled sides, red edges. With terminal errata. Very light rubbing at extremities, endpapers toned, some light foxing, creasing to some page corners. A very good copy.
