This book presents four charming classic poems, written at the beginning of the 19th Century as part of a series of books designed to entertain children. The first poem, The Butterfly's Ball, describes an enchanting gathering of insects, who dance the night away beneath a majestic oak tree. The second, The Peacock at Home, sees the proud peacock host a grand party for the birds of the forest. The third, The Elephant's Ball, tells of an exotic gathering of creatures, including a rhinoceros, a zebra and a lion, who come together in a palace of gold and ivory for a night of dancing and revelry. Finally, The Lions Masquerade presents a lively portrayal of a masquerade ball attended by a colorful cast of animals, from a cunning fox to an elegant greyhound. Taken together, these poems offer a delightful glimpse into the world of children's literature from centuries past. They are filled with whimsical imagery and playful language, and are sure to entertain and enchant readers of all ages. This book is a reproduction of an important historical work, digitally reconstructed using state-of-the-art technology to preserve the original format. In rare cases, an imperfection in the original, such as a blemish or missing page, may be replicated in the book. print-on-demand item.
