Wie eine edle Pralinenmischung ist diese Schatzkiste von 25 zusammengestellten Aufsätzen, die erfolgreiche Manager und Politiker geschrieben haben, denen etwas gemeinsam ist Die Autoren haben allesamt Mathematik studiert und sind deshalb "untypische" Führungskräfte. Das ganze Buch ist ein Glücksfall, ich möchte es mit einer gelungenen hochwertigen Pralinenmischung vergleichen. Zuerst kommt ein Foto und Kurzlebensauf des Autors mit einem Kommentar der Herausgeber und dann der eigentliche Beitrag. Diese Aufsätze sind so verschieden, wie die Wege, die die jeweiligen Autoren vom Mathematikstudium zum Management geführt haben. Sie reichen von der bissig-satirischen Selbstdarstellung des eigenen Lebenslaufes über echte Unternehmensphilosophie bis zur handfesten nützlichen Gebrauchsanweisung zur Karriereplanung mit dem Ausgangspunkt Mathematikstudium. Und eine Menge weiterführender und unterhaltsamer Literaturtips zu Management und Mathematik gibt es nebenbei auch noch dazu. Ich habe es beim Durchlesen wie mit der Pralinenmischung gehalten. Erstmal auf der Schachtel nachgeguckt, was es sein soll (aha, Nougat auf Orangenmarzipan in Edelbitterschokolade), dann vorsichtig abgebissen und die Überschriften (Aufbau der Fülle) inspiziert (aha, unten saftig mit "Schuß" und oben weich und cremig). Dann den Rest aufgegessen und den Nachgeschmack genossen - (lecker! Frische Zutaten, aufregende Kombinationen und tolles Aroma - ich mußte keine einzige angebissene Praline in die Schachtel zurücklegen!). Bei den Beiträgen bekommt man Einblicke in die geistigen Werkstätten und Gedankengänge der Autoren. Manche haben visionäre Managementphilosophien, die nachzuvollziehen ein Vergnügen für die geistig Hungrigen ist. Die Aussagen im Buch sind oft unglaublich tiefgründig und trotzdem überraschend einfach, wie schöne mathematische Formeln eben. Aber keine Angst, auch eine echte Flasche in Mathe, wie ich eine bin, kann verstehen, worum es geht - ausgerechnet der einzige Aufsatz mit Formeln gehörte für mich zu den unterhaltsamsten im Buch. (Und das Bestehochwertige geistige Nahrung macht nicht dick!!!) Die Beiträge sind fast alle frei von hohlem Verkaufsgeklingel oder eitler Selbstdarstellung, die in Firmenmagazinen, oder Kongressen allzu gern verlautbart werden (billiger gefärbter Zuckerguß, um mal weiter beim Pralinenvergleich zu bleiben). Die einzelnen Autoren sind in der überwiegenden Menge bescheiden geblieben, und ihre Beiträge enthalten auf insgesamt 207 Seiten mehr innere Weisheit und Grundwahrheiten, als manches dicke Standardlehrbuch. Das ist den Herausgebern, Gunter Dueck und Ulrich Hirsch zuzuschreiben, die eine Menge interessanter Leute zum Mitmachen bewegt haben (hochwertige Qualtiät der Zutaten und abwechslungsreiche Mischung), und die den roten Faden durch das Buch gelegt haben. Einen roten Faden, der einerseits stark genug ist, das Ganze zusammenzuhalten und den einzelnen Autoren genügend Freiheit läßt, ihre Eigenheiten darzustellen. Querdenker werden an dem Buch ihre helle Freude haben und den einen oder anderen geistigen Verwandten entdecken. Genießen Sie diese Schachtel mit den Leckerbissen in der edlen Mischung aus Management und Mathematik, es ist für jeden Geschmack etwas dabei. (So eine Pralinenmischung eignet sich übrigens als nettes Präsent für Politiker, angehende und fertige Mathematiker, Personalchefs und andere Manager.)
