Das Werk, in Kooperation mit der Edition Porsche Museum, entstand in enger Zusammenarbeit mit dem Stuttgarter Sportwagenhersteller, der allein knapp 100 Fotos sowie zahlreiche wertvolle Informationen beisteuerte.1940 im schweizerischen Menziken geboren, absolvierte Müller zunächst die Lehre als Galvaniseur im elterlichen Betrieb. Bereits mit 20 hatte er erste Erfolge auf ernstzunehmendem motorsportlichem Parkett, war bald Stammgast in den Cockpits der großen Manufakturen von Ferrari über Matra bis Porsche. Auf Carrera 6 gelang 1966 der sensationelle Sieg im weltberühmten Langstreckenrennen Targa Florio auf Sizilien, was er ein paar Jahre später mit Bravour wiederholte. Unter anderem fuhr er auch den mehr als 1000 PS starken Porsche 917/30 in der spektakulären Interserie von Sieg zu Sieg.Bis weit über die Grenzen der Schweiz hinaus erinnern sich die Fans an 'Herbie' und an seine Erfolge. Erinnerungen von Familienmitgliedern und etlichen Zeitzeugen reichern diese Renngeschichte an zur langentbehrten umfassenden Biographie eines Motorsportlers von Gnaden.
