Die Wagrienkarte wurde ursprünglich in der Schleswig-Holsteinischen Landesbeschreibung von Danckwerth 1652 veröffentlicht. Kurz darauf verkaufte die Witwe Danckwerth die Druckplatten an den Niederländer Joan Blaeu, der die Karten mit latinisiertem Titel in sein Werk Atlas Major einfügte und 1662 veröffentlichte.
