Dated January 1952, this compiles and revises content that first appeared in Parts I and II of the Handbooks for American Employees in January 1950 (the remaining Parts III-V were reissued in a single companion volume entitled The Arabia of Ibn Saud). Part I (Aramco and World Oil) describes the modern oil industry, entrance into Saudi Arabia, early exploration, pre-war expansion, wartime operations, and post-war expansion. Part II (The Arabian American "Partnership") covers oil operations, supporting services, relations with Government and people (Arab employees, Arab employee housing, Arab Industrial Development, Aramco assistance in Government projects), and the life of Americans in Arabia. Still relevant to employees, it was reissued in this form with a new Publisher's Preface for the benefit of a wider audience.
