Tells of the experiences of the 14th Battalion A.I.F at both Gallipoli and France. Albert Jacka enlisted on 18 September 1914 as a private in the 14th Battalion. He was the first member of the Australian Infantry Forces to be awarded a Victoria Cross in the First World War. He was awarded his VC at Gallipoli, the Military Cross at Pozieres and a bar to the MC at Bullecourt. NOTE: In the 1933 edition, aliases were used to protect the identities and reputations of some of the participants. In this edition, however, the editors have, where possible, restored the original identities.
