Emil Schult studierte in Düsseldorf bei Diter Rot, dann bei Joseph Beuys und beend…ete es 1973 als Meisterschüler von Gerhard Richter. Schults Werk umfasst Druckgrafiken, Zeichnungen und Künstlerbüchern mit teils philosophischen Schriften außerdem Gedichte, Comics, Collagen und Zeichnungen. Ab 1972 arbeitete Schult mit den Kraftwerk-Gründern Ralf Hütter und Florian Schneider zusmmen. Als Künstlerfreunde erschufen sie den Musik-Comic für das Album Ralf und Florian sowie die Cover für Autobahn, Radio-Aktivität und zusätzliche Grafiken für weitere Alben.
