Prima edizione
Hardcover. Condizione: Good. 1st Edition. This set is oversized, so the shipping may need to be adjusted. It is written in a mixed style of diary entries and findings from their exploration. It includes many sketches, pictures (some in color), drawings, and maps. Both volumes have moderate rubbing, primarily scrapes and fading, to the hardcovers. The gilted text block and spine are very faded. The front pastedowns have stickers from the donators and stamps over them. These have transferred some ink to the opposite page. The back pastedowns have the remnants of circulation cards from the library. The binding is dry and somewhat loose, mainly at the front and backs of the books. However, the interior is in good condition. The pages are tanned with very minor foxing, but the text is very clear. The first and second pages of both books have some pencil writing. Many of the foldouts have large creases or tears. In the first volume, page 270 and 403 have some stains from previous use. In the second volume, the first few pages are separating from the binding.
