Small, 1894-1929, was an English author known for his works of genre fiction including detective stories, science fiction, adventure, westerns, thrillers, and romances. He served in the Royal Navy during the First World War, and was inspired to write after meeting Jack London; he tragically died by suicide when he was only 34.
