März 1935 bestimmt, daß der Dienst in der Wehrmacht auf der Grundlage der allgemeinen Wehrpflicht erfolgen soll. Was hier begonnen wurde, ist durch die Verkündung des Wehrgesetzes vom 21. Mai 1935 vollendet. Damit ist für unser nationalsozialistisches Deutschland wieder ein Volksheer geschaffen worden, wofür das ganze Volk unserem Führer und Reichskanzler von ganzem Herzen dankbar ist. Die Schaffung der neuen Wehrmacht ist die befreiende Tat Adolf Hitlers, des Obersten Befehlshabers der Wehrmacht. Die neue Wehrgesetz soll Gemeingut des ganzen deutschen Volkes werden; die beigefügten Erläuterungen sollen das Verständnis erleichtern. Als Ergänzungen sind mehrere Abschnitte über die Entwicklungsgeschichte der Deutschen Wehrmacht und der allgemeinen Wehrpflicht, über die Wehrmacht im nationalsozialistischen Staat und über die Militärgerichtsbarkeit in Deutschland vorangestellt. Die bisherige Wehrgesetzgebung des Dritten Reiches stellt naturgemäß erst einen Anfang dar. Dabei ist das eigentliche Wehrgesetz vom 21. Mai 1935 insofern von besonderer Bedeutung als es zu den nationalsozialistischen Grundgesetzen gehört. In den 2000 Jahren deutscher Geschichte ist jetzt das erste militärisch und rechtlich einheitliche deutsche Heer geschaffen.
