The leather work is very good with 5 raised bands to the spine and gilt embellishment to the corners and to the spine. The top edge has also been gilted. The second panel has the title in gilt on black leather. The only detraction from fine is a slight tanning to the spine. The endpapers are marbled. This copy is from the library of Sir William Heseltine, the former Principal Private Secretary to Queen Elizabeth Ii, and bears his bookplate to the first page. A lovely association item.
