When published in 1919, it was an immediate success, and several of her other stories (including this) were published in 1920. A romantic tale of Beatrice Langton and her lover Laurence Cathcart. In 1920 she married James Devlin and settled in Norfolk, at one time running the King's Arms Hotel in Reepham.
