Was die sieben Malerinnen und Maler eint, ist ihr Studium an der Staatlichen Akademie der Bildenden Künste Karlsruhe, die heute immer noch eine Kunsthochschule mit dem Schwerpunkt Malerei ist und die der Stadt viel Renommee eingebracht hat.
