Private school prize plate, dated 1959, on the front free endaper, some scattered foxing on the prelims, otherwise very good. Illustrated with b/w drawings by Troy. Wonderful story of an Irish boy, Brian Boru Gallagher who emigrates to American carrying a leprechaun in a teapot.

Hard Cover. First Edition. Very good in a very good dust jacket. Slight wear to gold cloth at spine ends; long gift inscription dated in 1943 on front endpaper. The jacket has small chips at spine ends and corners, and is partially separated along the spine folds (but still in one piece).

Bottom edge of the boards show shelf wear and the head of the spine is bumped. Illustrated stamping remains eye-catching. Brownish red illustrated DJ of a figure wearing a detailed crown with birds all around, and white lettering on the front cover and on the spine (though it is very faded). DJ is chipped at the corners and missing pieces along the spine, but is placed in a protective plastic sleeve. Original price of $1.00 present on front flap of DJ. Previous owner's personal bookplate is affixed to front attached endpaper. Pencil drawing and inscription from the author, Hugh Troy, whose signature is below the signature. No date on title page. Copyright page is dated 1943. Unpaginated. Interiors are clean and free from marks or tears. Overall, a good copy with a poor DJ. Signed by Author(s).
