Der nahezu frische, allseitig unbeschnittene Buchblock nur sehr locker geheftet und lose in eine Art Interims-Pappband eingehängt, könnte lohnend und recht einfach neu aufgebunden werden. Das ursprünglich aufgeklebte Marmorpapier am Rücken abgeplatzt, fehlt auch auf beiden Deckeln zu zwei Dritteln. Das "Rückenschild" fast vollständig, das "Bibliotheksschild" teilweise abgeplatzt. Schöner als mancher Pressendruck, allseitig unbeschnitten mit sehr breiten Rändern, sowie mit Schmuckinitialen und Vignetten versehen. Oben auf jeder Seite mittig gesetzt der mehrzeilige Text der Liebeselegien, darunter etwas kompresser in zwei Spalten der Kommentar dazu. Stellenweise etwas gebräunt und fleckig. Das Motto in der schön gestochenen Druckermarke ist ein Horaz-Zitat und lautet: "Quidquid Sub Terra Est, In Apricum Proferet Aetas." (Alles, was unter der Erde ist, wird die Zeit ans Sonnenlicht bringen.) Mit dem handschriftlichen Verweis auf zwei gelehrte, eigentlich naturwissenschaftlich interessierte Adelige, "Di Luigi, e Giulio Conventati, / olim/" aus Macerata bei Ancona. Auf dem vorderen Innendeckel handschriftlich "Amici", auf dem Rücken ebenfalls handschriftlich der Titel des abgeplatzten Rückenschildes ergänzt, sowie eine Bibliotheksnummer. Es läßt sich daraus schließen, daß zumindest dieser Titel nach dem Ableben der beiden Grafen an Freunde weitergegeben wurde und anschließend einer der Bibliotheken der Universitätsstadt einverleibt wurde.
