Heinrich Lefler (7 novembre 1863-14 marzo 1919) è stato un pittore, grafico e scenografo austriaco D…al 1880 al 1884 studiò all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Vienna con Christian Griepenkerl e, dal 1884, all'Accademia di Belle Arti di Monaco con Nikolaus Gysis e Wilhelm von Diez . Nel 1891 divenne membro della Società degli artisti austriaci e, nel 1900, fu membro fondatore dell'Hagenbund . Dal 1900 al 1903 fu assistente di Anton Brioschi , il capo progettista dell'Opera di Stato di Vienna , dopo di che divenne professore all'Accademia fino al 1910. Mentre era all'Opera di Vienna, progettò una scenografia per il Metropolitan. Oltre al tempo dedicato alle sue occupazioni formali, trascorse molto tempo a Weißenbach an der Triesting con suo padre e suo cognato Joseph Urban , un collega scenografo, dove dipinsero murali su ville e alberghi, inviti per festival estivi e, con il librettista Camillo Walzel , mette in scena produzioni teatrali per bambini. The book features illustrations in the Secessionist or Jugendstil style by artists Heinrich Lefler and Josef Urban. It is a hardcover, oblong-quarto volume with co…lor pictorial boards. The songs were arranged by W. Labler and published by Tempsky & Co. in Vienna and Leipzig. Published in 1907, this book stands as a premier example of Austrian Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) and Secessionist book design. Illustrators Heinrich Lefler and Josef Urban were prominent artists, muralists, and stage designers. They founded the Hagenbund, an influential Viennese artists' association. Every musical score page is framed by intricate, black-and-white geometrical-floral decorative borders. The volume contains 16 vibrant, full-page color plates alongside unique typography tailored to the Secessionist aesthetic. The interior covers and endpapers feature a distinct light-green background adorned with light-blue bellflower (glockenblumen) vines. Compiled and arranged by Wladimír Labler, the book contains 46 traditional German folk and children's songs set to piano arrangements. The initial 1907 print was co-managed by F. Tempsky in Vienna and G. Freytag in Leipzig. The handwriting at the bottom right of the title page appears to be an owner's signature or provenance inscription rather than an official autograph from the creators. Placing a personal signature on both the front title page and the inside front endpaper (or flyleaf) was standard practice for private book collectors and institutional libraries to mark ownership. Winters Abschied u.v.m. - Heinrich Lefler (1863 bis 1919) war ein österreichischer Maler, Graphiker und Bühnenbildner. Von 1900 bis 1903 war Lefler (unter der Direktion von Gustav Mahler) Ausstattungsleiter an der Wiener Hofoper. In diese Zeit fallen auch die Entwürfe der Bühnenbilder für die Inszenierung einer Wagner-Oper an der Metropolitan Opera in New York. Neben seiner Tätigkeit als Bühnenbildner in Wien, Dresden und Berlin, seiner Professur an der Akademie der Bildenden Künste in Wien, seinem wegweisenden Schaffen in der Illustration von Kinder- und Jugendliteratur war es die gemeinsam mit Joseph Urban (1872-1933, österr. Architekt, Illustrator und Bühnenbildner) und seinem Vater, dem Maler Franz Lefler in Weissenbach verbrachte Sommerfrische, die dem erfüllten Künstlerleben gleichermaßen Ausgleich wie Inspirationsquelle bot. Zahlreiche Publikationen zum Schaffen des Künstlerduos Heinrich Lefler - Joseph Urban in der Kunstzeitschrift "The Studio" geben Zeugnis vom damaligen Bekanntheitsgrad der heute vergessenen Künstler. Lefler kannte viele Kunstschaffende (Kandisnky, Peter Altenberg, H. Bahr, Marie von Ebner-Eschenbach, Roda Roda, P. Rosegger, Ferdinand von Saar, Arthur Schnitzler, Stefan Zweig u.v.a.m.). Zum Begriff des Gesamtkunstwerkes bzw. zur Durchdringung von Kunst und Leben passen auch Heinrich Leflers Gestaltungen von Banknoten- und Optionsscheinen, sowie seine Plakatentwürfe, die in ihrer Aussage genau jene Versöhnung zwischen Arbeit und Kunst thematisieren. - Eben dieses Suchen nach der Verbindung von Form und Inhalt kommt auch im vorliegenden Liederbuch sehr schön zum Ausdruck! - (Kanten berieben, Vorsatz im Gelenk minim angerissen, kl.
