First edition, expanded second issue of An Historical Sketch of Los Angeles County, California (a shorter version had been published earlier the same year). The appendix contains accounts of the Fourth of July planning and celebration in Los Angeles, organized by a group of citizens who wanted to ensure the proper celebration of the American Centennial. This expanded second issue was published concurrently with the holiday celebrations, as per the wishes of the committees recorded in the appendix. One copy found in OCLC as of November 16, 2023.

Some assorted losses to corners of pages. Light markings at rear. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. A scarce piece documenting the history of Los Angeles Country, having been produced to commemorate the United States Centennial. Appears to be a second issue, with the appendix containing information of the city's Fourth of July celebrations.
